What should I do if my car’s engine management light comes on?

What you should do will depend on the colour of the light that comes on:

If the light is red, you need to stop driving straight away and get in touch with Knights Garage. When the red light is illuminated, it generally means that there’s a serious issue and that continuing to drive could be dangerous and ultimately result in very expensive repairs.

If the light is orange or yellow, it does indicate an issue, but it could be something simple that you can resolve yourself such as topping up the engine oil or checking the tyre pressure.
